For three decades Paul Burch’s thoroughly modern yet instantly classic songs have attracted fans from Rock to Bluegrass, inspiring Pop Matters to declare him “one of the finest contemporary roots performers and one of the best damn songwriters operating today.”

PB's debut novel Meridian Rising (University of Liverpool Press) is inspired by the life of 1920s music legend Jimmie Rodgers and has been hailed by famed music critic Greil Marcus as “a book of wonders.”
The novel was awarded the Silver Medal for Literary Book of the Year by Foreword Reviews. Burch has produced numerous albums with his band the WPA Ballclub, including his latest Cry Love, in addition to recordings with Mark Knopfler, Billy Bragg, Ralph Stanley, and Lambchop.
